Sir Paul McCartney’s forthcoming gig at Liverpool FC’s stadium Anfield was recently under threat of cancellation, it has emerged.
Liverpool City Council had to give McCartney Productions Limited £1.7million to prevent the cancellation. The money will pay for production costs and essentials such as insurance – no profits will be made by either McCartney or the football club.

the gig is part of liverpool’s year of being “European Capital Of Culture.”
now i’m sorry but i cannot for the life of me figure out why it would cost 1.7 million quid to put on a gig in addition to the income from ticket sales and merchandise (min face value is 35ukp) = minimum 1,225,000 quid
so conservative estimate for the gig costs (bearing in mind that “no profits will be made by either McCartney or the football club.”) is at least a cool 3 million quid for a one off gig
unless there’s something i’m missing, methinks the sums dont add up – somethings rotten in denmark…

i had to give telefonica my mobile number twice in relation to our adsl going down
telefonica are in bed with movistar
i just go “los siento no habla espanol, sorry what do you want”
and they generally repeat that i dont speak spanish, the line goes quiet and i hang up
email spam is one thing but i hate mobile phones enough as it is without companies bloody ringing me unsolicited – in a language i dont fully understand!

it was decided that the ton of ethernet cable that snakes the balcony is probably not good for our heath – i set up the free wifi and the webcam in the winter when we dont bother with the balcony – now the balcony is becoming an option i got the “hint” that i should sort it out
so i got paid from someone today and decided to do something about it – down to the ferreteria, i got everything you would ever need – i sorted it all, got electrocuted a couple of times (as you do) and then finally went to finish it and realised we dont actually have a f.. (i could swear here) hammer
ok – this sounds like have a beer time – so, on the basis that i could easily go and have a beer or 4 and do f**k all i went and had a beer with a friend then went back out went to the ferreteria when they opened again (if you dont live in spain you realise that everything shuts between 1.30 & 4.30)
then i go back on the balcony to sort out the cabling, cable stripping, chuck blocks etc and its probably the hotest day of the year so far – where’d that come from?
i’m in a jumper and jeans and suddendly i’m thinking the shorts and tshirt should come out
the good thing was that it was all done and we then went to play pool – as you do
theres a lyric i heard this afternoon which i really wish i could remember what it was because i could be really sarcastic to someone (i know the band and the track but cant remember it) – but i guess thats life and i’m not meant to say it
i know there was something i wan’t to say but then then motorhead – motorhead has come on the radio while this is open so i cant be arsed since its a great track and i cant argue with it
