Fringe – the new X-Files ?

Just finished watching the first episode of the new nbc (i think) series called fringe. it could turn out to be where the x-files couldve gone if it had carried on. the first episode would certainly not been out of place if it had been an x files episode – except of course there was no mulder or scully, but given the awful recent x files film this could be the x files saving grace

there was a half decent twist towards the end and it definitely makes allusions to big corporations, u.s. paranoia about homeland security etc etc

the only problem is that it maybe setting itself up to be the new x-files. its not perfect but it could be a good series

santa eulalia beat sdibiza in first derby game

after depressing footy results during the day i took my mind off it to go and see our local footy team play sd ibiza. since my employers sponsor sd ibiza but i live in santa eulalia as long as it wasn’t a draw i’d be happy.

as it was santa eulalia won 2-0 after arguably a dodgy penalty decision went their way but they did cap it off with a brilliant attacking run on the right wing for (insert name of player) to slot home comfortably

9-11 conspiracy is not going away

i guess that since my birthday is 11th september i have an inate personal connect with what happened 7 years ago. i had gone to new york a couple of times in the previous 2 years. in a moment of altruistic (sp) fun i took my mate on a weekend jaunt to new york – i remember standing on 51st and 5th and saying shall we walk down the 30 blocks or so and go back up the empire state (we went a couple of days before hand and it was fog) or go to times square and go and have a beer and watch the latest film

we went to an irish bar had a couple of beers and watched “absolute power” the then new clint eastwood film at a cinema in times square

when we got to jfk to get the flight back that evening we learned that some nutter had opened up fire on tourists a few hours earlier at the top of the empire state and killed a danish (i think) tourist and injured 20 odd others – i was glad i said right to times square rather than left down 5th

a few years later i went back to new york to visit a friend and i went up to the top of the world trade center – there’s nothing that can explain what its like to be on top – its a hugely weird experience looking over manhatten from that level – the top of the building seemed like 50ft across – you felt like you could jump across to the south tower it was that close

i had a friend who had been working in the twin towers but had taken that day off

i have no doubt that vested interests were involved in 9/11

ps – if the nsa etc are reading this – kiss my arse – history will reveal

the more documentaries i watch about 9/11 the more i realise that the us population is being duped – i hope i’m wrong but gut feeling tells me i’m not
