forgot to update – after a phone call from their head of legal and business affairs, ministry of sound have decided to remove their ibiza wifi hotspot listings from their iphone app – cant possibly imagine why

ministry of sound iphone app
ministry of sound have launched their new iphone ibiza app – but there was one thing that got me alerted
in their wifi hotspot listings they have manolos y finas tiny bar downstairs and it surprised me that they knew about it – when i looked it had the exact same 2 sets of 5 decimal place longtitude and latitudes as our wifi hotspot listing
as i checked further – their entry for “ibiza town park” listing also had the same 5 decimal place lat & long as our iphoneibiza.com website – bear in mind the park is probably 100m x 100m – why the exact same location?
as i randomaly picked out entries they all had the same lat & long
i’ve asked the ministry of sound for an explanation – i would re-publish the replies but i know that the ministry of sound have an alleged history of litigousness
stay tuned
havent blogged for a bit as have been busy with the main website and stuff so some updating is necessary
1. i’m going to rome to the champions league final – result – just got to find the money and book flights and hotel – pain in the right royal rase
2. my iphone ibiza app has been accepted in the itunes app store – i dont think ive ever been more happy – the irony is that i found out about it courtesy of someone posting on ibiza-spotlight forum – the forum ive been banned from so many times its untrue
this is the blog post i put up today:
Some more screenshots of our iphone ibiza application. It has over 1000 ibiza telephone numbers you can easily dial direct from your iphone or itouch without having to be online. We’ve got over 300 hotels, all the emergency numbers, car hire, restaurants etc that we have on the web version – the clubs, concierge services, gyms, scuba diving, taxis etc:
You can get it by simply searching for “ibiza” in the itunes app store or by using this link

andy taylor
went to meet up with andy taylor at henry’s sonic vista studios in ibiza yesterday evening where he’s recording his new album. we were talking for about half an hour when he said do you fancy a beer and then we can listen to some of the new stuff “sounds good to me”…
so we decamped to the nearest bar and chewed the fat about everything from politics, the g20 protester who was killed to the music biz – a very enjoyable couple of hours then it was back to the studio where henry sat in front of mission control and started playing some of the stuff andy’s already recorded, mixing it as the tracks were playing – very guitar, loud and really good.
it got late so we offered him a lift home as he lives not far from the flat – fuck me – what a pad – how the other half lives etc….. cant remember how long we spent there but after meeting up early evening got home about 3am – top bloke
he’s playing at vaughans 50th birthday bash at las dalias tomorrow so looking forward to that – tonight though is inter-pub pool competition at the newly reopened queen vic, then nassau beach club opening in bossa then probably a beer in the rock bar – cant see myself going to vaughans do in the funky room at pacha though
today, 2 years ago
2 years ago today i packed and got in my mates car and came back to ibiza after living on the mainland for the previous 3 years
i wonder what would have happened if i had taken norman skinners offer to buy him out all those years ago – arf..
whatever
its been fun and will continue to be so – i’m looking forward to this year
view from the ibiza villa
this is the view from our ibiza villa – our ibiza villa has great views over ibiza and we love our jaunts into san jose village in ibiza
we have nothing better to do than talk about our ibiza villa and its views over the ibiza countryside and spend our time making friends and influence people – oh sorry that last sentance was the wrong way around
anyway we love our ibiza villa and we love its views over ibiza
arf…
jimmy page live in ibiza
thanks to a friend i found the live bootleg of jimmy, jason bonham and a couple of others at a gig in san antonio, ibiza in 1986 – the live tracks are here: jimmy page live in ibiza
watched last nights u.s. ep 7 of 24 this afternoon – i’m deffo enjoying it so far – quite a few twists early on but its starting to settle down – but i doubt that will last long
there’s another project i’m working on related to the iphone but since i know some people are reading this blog now i dont want to spill the beans before i have to.
i noticed today that the spitlight have now started their own ibiza blog – this blog and the main one have been google pr3 for quite awhile (this for a couple of years now) so i’m not worried by them – if i could be arsed i actually think it would be fun to read their blog and do my own version to target their keywords
ive read the first 6 or so – and i’m definitly not worried
“today was a good day”
i think it started yesterday
madrid rings to say they are issuing my passport
went to the pub and won my pool competition game
went for dinner at a friends last night and had a really great time but ran out of fags – got back into town at 2am but cosmi bar was still open – result
today booked a return flight to london for TEN euros
got “a forest” played on neil coles request hour – ok so i’ve had loads played but it was nice to hear that track
printouts of feb’s magazine turned up on time this afternoon and it was relatively painless to proof read – and no time pressure
spoke to a friend about an artist who they look after who i hope may come and play here this year – i have a good feeling about it
i have been in a strangely good mood all day
a perfect photo
with apologies to iain baker this photo he posted on facebook (and i sincerely hope he doesnt mind me putting it up), epitomises everything i love
sand, sea, beach, trees and a table with a beer on it looking at it all – priceless

i finally managed to get my passport photos done on regular non watermarked paper in ibiza town and sent the forms off last friday
in discussion with the guy in the shop it turns out that they are going to stop ordering the photo paper which would basically mean everyone in ibiza is stuffed (everywhere else uses watermarked paper)
after chatting with my mate and suggesting we should let the ibiza consulate know, he rings helen watson mbe, the ibiza consul, who we know – it turns out that this leaves ibiza with only ONE place on the whole of the island apparently that does british passport approved photos – in san antonio
she then rings the british consulate in madrid (where uk citizens in spain get their passports processed) and they agree to relax the rules for anyone on ibiza – fookin result!
(wish we’d done this 3 months ago though…)
