the oscars & new ibiza site

i’m really pleased the departed won so much at the oscars - i can honestly say its one of my favourite films over the past few years and about time that Martin Scorsese won an oscar – top film…

cant remember whether i blogged about it but we drew at darts on weds & lost on thursday for the first time – not that bad as the leaders also lost so were still a point behind but one extra game played

The new ibiza site is starting to take shape now and ive put the ibiza blog up since we started getting crawlers – the main site wont go live until its ready though

once again indie 103.1 throw me a curve ball – just heard the the – top band they were -

the past few days ive early cure, stone roses, and tons of stuff that if i was doing a radio show – it’s be exactly like that

watched the office & 30 rock today obviously – once again another couple of great episodes

have just started watching the series “the wire” – the only thing is that it reminds me of watching 24 for the first time (series 5) and realising ive got 4 more *series* to watch before i get up to date…..

updates for the week since ive been really lax due to a major website i ve started

. mon: 24 – another classic episode
.tues: pool – have a guess……. i won one and si won – only problem is that we 10 games….
.playing golf on monday for the first time in i guess 8 weeks – i’ll be on the top of my game then…….
.no darts this week as weve rescheduled to next week which means mon golf, tues pool, darts weds & thurs as well as champions league games tues & weds & eufa on thurs – * phew*
.friday i shall be vegging in bed all day
.the darts team who called the game on us and who we beat the other week – weve drawn them in the next round of the cup – we are amused and looking forward to it
.when can we have a standard freakin css system that all browsers work the same with – ive spent HOURS the past 2 days making sure ie7 & ff2 display the same – fookin nightmare – and i havent even checked on ie6 yet since vista has decided it doesnt want me to install standalone version of previous ie.. arse
.did i mention i watched night at the museum? – it was good in a im bored, open a bottle of red, and chill out for 2 hours & get away from the pc…
.ive taken a load of photos and a few vids of kara the dog pre and post haircut on thursdaybefore i go back to ibiza – however vista doesnt like premiere so the vids will have to wait to be uploaded  (have now uploaded a few photos to the kara section)

some bullet points since its 2.20am

• the highly.trained.althetes won the darts last night – it was a combined cup and league match – we went into the last game 6-5 up so the worst we could do was draw, but yours truly caned it and we won 7-5, which meant we won the cup & league game and it just left jason (our best player) to play a best of 3 against one of the other side for the individual cup series thing – he won it 2-0 – spot on
• the office – jim doing pavlovs dog was brilliant – sometimes watching the office is like watching a really horrible gruesome operation – its excruiating but you cant look away – last night was another great episode
• 30 rock – this gets more surreal by the week
• why do i always click on conan o brien demonoid links in my rss reader to find out who hes had on when i know i wont download the show cos i cant stand him ?
• i really like the silversun pickups
• heard a mexican duo? called Rodrigo Y Gabriela playing live and being interviewed on indie103.1 earlier and they blew me away – i cant explain it but if you like latin guitar music then this is yer stuff – they are no.1 in ireland, no.1 in uk world music charts etc etc and are playing on the same bill as ratm’s reforming gig – their website - and they were so funny ( and produced by john leckie no less as well)

for those of you who are in the slightest bit remotely interested, we didnt play pool last night

anyway – we are now second in the darts league after winning last week-
them played 10 – 24 pts
us – played 11 – 23 pts

so if wanker features a.n. bar hadnt been such wankers and we had been allowed to play our game against them we could theorectically be top, albiet with the top placed team 2 points behind with a game in hand (3 points for a win)

the great thing is that the team who took the points have had 2 situations after where they have asked other teams to reschedule – after hearing what they did to us both have said no and taken the games

(i must say though we have had to reschedule some other games and others have had to against us – and we have quite happily done so with no problems)

24, indie 103.1, darts, ibiza, pool

1. watched last nights 24 – i dont think anyone would mind if jack got tom and graem in the same room and “talked” to them – its starting to set up nicely now
2. indie 103.1 – ive heard nothing now after 2 days to suggest that its going to be history. ive heard early cure stuff, janes addiction, all sorts – its not 3 bad…. (the only thing is that i cant get it to work in firefox so ive saved the actual player url: player url for ie to me desktop
3. darts – looked at the tables today – were joint 2nd, 4 points behind the leaders, though 3rd in the league since we have a worse goal difference
4. ibiza – i spent 5 years living in ibiza before coming to the mainland – after 3 years here it looks like i’m going back to my faviourite place in the world – cant wait
5. pool – pool match tonight – i’m not holding my breath on a win…. surprisingly enough

5-5, with 2 games to go, i step up and win my singles then al wins his singles – we win 7-5… we have a big grudge match next weds at home as the team we’re playing claimed their original [home] game against us as we had asked to reschedule and they said no – if it wasnt for that we would be 6 wins, 2 draws and only 1 loss

jesus we’re crap

we decided that since we normally just turn up and immediately play our league games the highly.trained.althetes thought we get to the pub early and have an hour of practice – we were 4-1 down by half time and ended up losing 6-3 (it was a cup

game so it wasnt worth playing the final game since we had already lost)

we have a darts match tomorrow away, and apparently if we draw tomorrows match we are either top or joint top of the league

i watched ep 5 of 24 and it was a bit of a let down after the first 4 but i remember from previous series that not every episode is a “hold onto yer seats” type thing – i may have missed something but i dont remember ever knowing that jacks brother was a baddie before ?

i just discovered this snap thingy, which if you hover your mouse over a link like this (bbc), it shows a small screengrab of the site – well bleedin neat
darts match tonight, so far i think its about 3,2,0 ie 3 wins, 2 draws – i dont think weve actually lost one yet – wish i could say the same for our pool league….

i remember last year in the winter pool league that tuesday was always a nightmare in the day to get 24 down before i had to go out to pool – this year i dont think its going to be a problem since they seem to be appearing quicker and faster – its a great way to psych yourself up before you go out… though at the same time its always a bit weird – 24 finishes and then you have to go and face reality

it reminds me of 1992 and having a notepad open to copy and paste html into message boards

now i like 30 rock but wtf is alec baldwin doing getting best comedy actor over steve carrell ? huh?

i cant believe both 24 and the office didnt get anything – its a sham… ( i suppose i’ll have to watch ugly betty – but what happens if i like it? or dont like it?)

24, & darts

i have to add this since ive watched the first 4 eps of season 6 – i havent seen a blog or mention that hasnt said this season isnt going to be great

tonight the highly.trained.athletes went 6-5 up (best of 12) and yours truly had to play in the final match against their best player….. we drew the game…. now i am not our best darts player – there are 4/5 before me but to rely on me in the final game was a bit harsh – i did ok, hit a few treble 19’s but ended up on about 120 ish and him on x16 – he missed and if god was smiling i *may* have finished (in my dreams) but it was not to be
we found out later only one team had actually beaten them so far so we’re happy
