the stage of cant be arsed

after the fun of the ims and our audio of the club panel correspondance i’ve decided (at the moment) i cant be arsed to challenge whether we have the legal right to release the audio we made

4 months later and the ims still havent done anything and it looks like they wont be releasing audio and it will only be pay per view of video – if it ever happens of course

*shakes head*

reminder – we offered to do FREE podcasts of the panels to a timescale that whatever the ims wanted / either nightly or on a holdback

yesterday the ims said again they would be putting up the video (for a payment) on their timescale not ours: “content will be available to all shortly” – 4 months is a bit sad….

good – i hope i dont have to put up the audio again in 4 weeks time and test their lawyers

ims update

after putting up that post on ibizaA-Z blog, they were told by a representative of the IMS that the audio of the club panel was their copyright and threatened them with a legal letter (whatever that is) if they didn’t take the audio down.

ibizaA-Z were invited as accredited members of the press and made an audio recording of that panel – i dont see how the IMS can own that copyright – as ibizaA-Z pointed out, if they transcribe the audio would the IMS own the copyright in that text ????

International Music Summit (IMS) club panel audio

Tomorrow will be 4 months after the historic public meeting at the International Music Summit in Ibiza of the main clubs and the government.

We wanted to do podcasts of the IMS panels for free and make them available for everyone to hear but were told the IMS will be doing them themselves. (see our v.i.t.a.l blog from earlier this year)

Since its 4 months later and you still cant get anything online anywhere of what actually took place at the IMS we’ve decided to release our audio of that meeting.

It’s not great quality we know, however we know there are quite a few sources who have better versions but for some reason they haven’t released them. We were assured by the IMS that the panels would all be made available (on video) by July 1st (for a fee no less..) We did ask one of the panelists what they thought of the irony of the IMS charging people for video of his talk, given the nature of it (Andrew Keens talk) – he laughed and said he didn’t think they would make much money out of it…

Anyway, for historic reasons and google here’s the audio of the first time the main clubs and the government met in public:

fringe IS the new x-files

3rd episode in and its starting to look good

eureka is going great, big bang theory is on its second series as is sarah conner chronicles, and there’s also fringe and first blood and a pilot of a program called worst week

colbert and daily show are back and i can pretty much watch any sports event that takes place anywhere on the planet at any time live on my pc, laptop or tv

things are great in the tv dept at the moment now that the summer is coming to a close

just got to do dj awards tomorrow and probably be sarcastic again about the ims lack of activity on the net front but whats new….

ive spent about 2 weeks now converting the google maps driven site to a regular database driven site so google can index all the content in context – i hope to have it fully live probably early next week – which of course coincides with the magazine delivery and then bunging all the new months stuff up so it’ll probably be unveiled a week this weekend

i’ve sort of avoided whats been happening in the u.s. as living in ibiza its very easy to succomb to the ibiza bubble so today i watched a bunch of tv to figure out what happened last week and one thing struck me that really wasn’t examined but i though was unbelievable

the u.s. government now basically owns every mortgage in america…

the football league trying to change history

after reading about the ghost goal at reading vs watford – i went to youtube to see what happend

as of 4.45pm (madrid time) there’s only one available – all the previous ones have been taken down:

dont the league realise that people will continue to upload the clip to youtube until they (football league) get bored asking youtube to take them down ???

put him, pete doherty and shane mcgowen in a studio, light the blue touch papar and definitily retire – to a great distance

some people should just never be given a microphone – e.g. i’ve always had a problem with neil young because i hate his voice yet all his non-vocal stuff i love to death

meeting the great and good

yesterday i got an email from the british embassy to say that Xico Torres (President of the Island Council), Mrs Meg Munn (British Secretary of State for Consular Affairs), Denise Holt (British Ambassador to Spain) and Helen Watson (British Consul) were having an unveiling at the new british consul here

i have to admit that i was going to have a shave in the morning in honour but since it was an early start i couldnt be arsed – so i put on a shirt

as it turned out it was still at the existing british “embassy” and i guess it was just a jolly (but if any of them are reading this please dont let that influence my passport renewal when i get arsed round to do it)

the “press conference” was the local press giving them grief about the usual brits on the piss etc – culminating in the penultimate question… i dont understand spanish that well but i can read body language… within 15 secs of the question xico turned away and rolled his eyes, helen watson immediately said no to meg munns and took over to answer since she is fluent spanish speaker and meg munns wasnt

i recorded it all on me iphone so over the next few days i’ll play it back and see if we can figure out what made those 3 so pissed off

the media woman had intimated before that question that the q&a was over but i had wanted to ask about winter tourism so this was the ideal point – the face of everyone when an english bloke suddenly said “i have a question” was brilliant

i was trying to figure out a way of asking xico about winter tourism with relationship to the consul, so i asked “with regard to the new planned promotion of winter tourism will the consell be working with the british consul to promote ibiza to the uk?”

ibiza’s winter tourism (NEXT YEAR) is going to be based around pensioners who er wont be able to afford to do anything when they actually get here – great fuckin idea xico…
