moving back to ibiza

so, its pretty much set now. im moving back to the place i love.

when i was a kid i always imagined i wanted to end up living on an island, through a strange set of circumstances i moved there after living in london for 15 years. it was only after being on ibiza for about a year i remembered my childhood dream. it was also a bit strange that i ended up living in the same town our family had visited on holiday about 25 years earlier.

after a couple of years, whenever i was asked about what i was doing etc i’d always reply that i could see myself moving to the mainland after about 5 years. 3 years later after a strange set of circumstances i ended up living on the mainland.

i was only supposed to be on mainland spain for around 4-6 months, but now 3 years later i’m going home and i cant wait

my huge problem is kara – i am going to miss her more than i care to think about – if i could take her with me i would but thats not going to happen – every time i look at her i think about it – i’m dreading it and its still over a month away

however, i’m really looking forward to seeing all the old faces – i cannot wait to walk into a couple of certain bars and see the looks and ive got a ton more ideas than when i first moved there – also the experience of then and the last few years mean i will do things a whole lot differently

at least i’ll have a couple of months before the madness of the summer season starts

ive been thinking recently about other places in the world that appeal: toronto & vancouver (basically because of the music, but the weather has put a big downer on that), the u.s. but i dont think i could live with a country that has had bush for 8 years and their smoking in public laws – so realistically ibiza is probably the ideal place in the world for me

because of the paris hilton & intelligence posts, my blog stats went through the roof today *shakes head* – i didnt realise it was the season finale of intelligence last night – and of course someone posted a comment which said what happened, (i had to go in and delete some of the text) – i watched ep 12 today but i HAVENT seen the season finale episode which is no. 13 – so dont post spoilers on my blog please…..

i do think its probably one of the best tv crime/thriller etc series ive seen for a long long time – so unless you know of the torrent for ep13…. please……

more about indie 103.1

its bluddy great – i found this just now station logs – ie what tracks are played and time and it covers the previous week as well.

i looked at their competitor? kroq’s website and its not hard to figure out that if you want the l.a. equivalent of toronoto’s the edge then kroq is the one – however if you want a VERY varied selection of decent music then indie 103.1 is the tits…

cbc’s intelligence tv series

now just finished watching episode 11 and to be honest i think this is probably the best tv series ive seen for ages – and i include 24 in that

this is a really good series and i think far far better than ncis?, and all that bollocks – hopefully they are doing the 24 type thing – have your series follow a story, with the subplots etc but rather than the old style story in 25 mins, play it out over an entire series

its got to the stage now where you really have no idea who is playing who & who has what agenda

i’m gagging for the next episodes of this

and much as i loved max headroom – ooh i hate the way he’s cosying up to the dea – have you no shame ?… ;)

paris hilton

i dont normally give a flying one about ppl like the lohans, britneys, beyonces, hiltons, etc etc of this world but every now and again they do something that makes me laugh

paris suing over thatwebsite

what can you say about paris exposed.com – *laughs* – the thing is, is that if was anyone else, no one would touch the stuff with a barge pole – but i *think* that really she only has herself to blame – you want to live in the media then this is the price you pay

theres a few torrents already with between 800mb & 4gb content so its out there now

i dont think its any surprise to learn we lost at pool

24, indie 103.1, darts, ibiza, pool

1. watched last nights 24 – i dont think anyone would mind if jack got tom and graem in the same room and “talked” to them – its starting to set up nicely now
2. indie 103.1 – ive heard nothing now after 2 days to suggest that its going to be history. ive heard early cure stuff, janes addiction, all sorts – its not 3 bad…. (the only thing is that i cant get it to work in firefox so ive saved the actual player url: player url for ie to me desktop
3. darts – looked at the tables today – were joint 2nd, 4 points behind the leaders, though 3rd in the league since we have a worse goal difference
4. ibiza – i spent 5 years living in ibiza before coming to the mainland – after 3 years here it looks like i’m going back to my faviourite place in the world – cant wait
5. pool – pool match tonight – i’m not holding my breath on a win…. surprisingly enough

indie 103.1 & Steve Jones

update: 2 odd hours later & well its been really good so far – eclectic and not bad – i decided that i really liked what was going on-air so i went to the site to see if i could find out more and it turns out its only steve jones! – this from his wiki:

“In February 2004, Jones began hosting a daily radio program in Los Angeles called Jonesy’s Jukebox, on Indie 103.1 FM, broadcasting live Monday to Friday from noon to 2PM. The premise of the show is that the self-described “Sire of Wilshire” can do whatever he wants (within FCC rules), with no direction from station management. Far from an angry punk with access to a transmitter, Jones is a witty, intelligent, and entertaining host who mixes an eclectic playlist (culled from his own collection of CDs) with often (intentional) rambling and humorous interviews of guests from all walks of the entertainment industry. “

this is the sort of show (station) i like – so far….. ;)

the edge 102.1 & why i hate most commercial radio

ive got a bit fed up with the edge now – its all very well listening to commercial radio for say an hour or so at a time but if you listen for more than that you come up against the biggest problem commercial radio has – automated playlisting

this is why, for example, you’d have heard the same 2 chilli pepper songs over the course of last week – snow hey ho & californication, even though they have a huge back catalogue – unless the dj is picking his music you end up with the same stuff over and over again

i looked at the last 12 hours of the edge the other day (they have it online) saved it and sorted it by artist, there were at least 6-7 artists that all had at least 3 plays and were always the same standard tracks

i love listening to radio stations that happen to broadcast online as its like being there in that town but i’m seriously sick of hearing the same songs over and over again

i have to decided to try 1 station for 2 days at a time – but if i hear the same “standard” song twice in the same day ie old tracks by the clash, nirvana, rhcp, metallica etc or if they play coldplay yellow or ill scarlet at all then they are history – if you cant have the imagination to pick different tracks from bands who have huge back catalogues then there is something wrong

today step up 99.3 the fox from vancouver, canada

cbc’s intelligence & smokin aces

tv.coms guide – this is starting to be a really good series – it reminds me of 24 in a way, in that as soon as one episode finishes i have to watch the next one (cf tilt – what happened to that? i thought michael madsen and the idea was really good but after 6 episodes it never got picked up)

the first 4 or 5 of intelligence i now realise were setting things up, now shit is starting to hit the proverbial and its getting really good – though the directors drinking habit is starting to be a little obviously done – when is that going to be an issue ?

official – i’m hooked

smokin aces has finally turned up on the net – ok, its only cams but initial samples show quite decent quality
